  UL is a globally recognized independent safety science organization that tests and certifies products to strict safety standards, particularly for electrical and electronic devices, to  help prevent risks such as fire, electric shock, or mechanical failure. Many of our LED products proudly carry the UL Listed (or cULus) mark, which confirms that they have been independently evaluated and fully comply with applicable UL standards. We also use UL Recognized components where appropriate in our designs.

This certification is a cornerstone of our product reliability. It builds trust with our customers by verifying that our lights have been third-party tested for safety. In North America, UL certification is often required by retailers, building codes, insurers, and commercial projects. Many of our LED fixtures, strips, and power supplies carry CSA approval (often alongside UL/cULus), allowing effortless cross-border sales and installations.   ETL is a certification mark issued by Intertek, an OSHA-recognized Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). It confirms that our products have been tested and meet equivalent North American safety standards to those of UL and CSA, addressing hazards like electrical shock, fire, and durability. The ETL Listed mark applies to complete products that pass comprehensive evaluation.

We frequently choose ETL certification for its efficiency and equivalence in safety assurance, and many of our LED lights, including tape lights, puck lights, and fixtures, bear the ETL mark (often noted as cETLus for both U.S. and Canada). This provides the same level of confidence as UL or CSA, supports easier market access across borders, lowers return rates from safety concerns, and positions Lumenstar LED as a trusted source for quality-controlled, compliant lighting.

      RoHS is a key European Union directive (2011/65/EU, with global influence) that limits the use of certain hazardous substances—such as lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)—in electrical and electronic equipment. Compliance helps reduce environmental and health impacts during manufacturing, use, and end-of-life disposal, typically verified through testing aligned with standards like IEC 62321.
